African Medical Mission
Dr. Dunn recently returned from a PINCC (Prevention International: No Cervical Cancer) mission to Africa. Dr. Dunn worked at traveling gynecology clinics offering desperately needed care to women in Kenya’s Siaya District, where there is only one government gynecologist for nearly 2.5 million people. In addition to working in clinics, she performed many surgeries for women with urogenital fistulas (a disabling complication of childbirth in Africa), as well as several other operations. She also worked with the government’s one gynecologist, teaching him surgical techniques. This is not only a medical mission to help the people of Kenya, but it is also a teaching opportunity.
